ABOUT
The Force of Water for a Brighter Tomorrow
Sikkim Urja Limited (Formerly: Teesta Urja Limited) has been formed to play an active and vital role in the hydro power development initiative of the Govt. of India. Sikkim Urja Limited (Formerly: Teesta Urja Limited) has been awarded the 1200 MW Teesta Stage III Hydro Power Project on BOOT basis, for a period of 35 years by Government of Sikkim. The project is a run of the river scheme in North Sikkim district and utilizes the available gross head of 800 meters. All the Generating Units have been successfully commissioned in February 2017.
As per the current shareholding structure of the company, Sikkim Urja Limited (Formerly: Teesta Urja Limited) is a State Govt. Enterprise with Government of Sikkim holding 60% stake through its investment company i.e. Sikkim Power Investment Corporation Limited.
